The Malet Arms

The Malet Arms is a 16th century coaching inn in Newton Toney enjoying an idyllic position on the banks of the river Bourne in Wiltshire; eight miles north east of Salisbury, just off the A338 and the A303.

Steeped in character and thoroughly “out of the way” the Malet Arms offers a wide range of real ales and high quality home produced food.

The current owners, Noel and Annie Cardew have been at the pub since 1999 and have developed a simple approach to eating and drinking out. There is always a friendly atmosphere within the bar area with cheerful bar staff and friendly welcoming locals.

The bar area is space for drinking and socializing and around it are set informal tables for eating at or resting! For a little more peace, there is a restaurant through the bar.

In the bar area there is an enormous ingle nook fireplace; there is no background music and no gambling machine or jukebox.

The interior of the pub is bedecked with old prints, hunting trophies and all manner of curiosities.

As far as possible the ingredients for food we use are sourced locally, most of the beers we stock are brewed locally too, with both the menu and beer choice changing all the time. Our wine list is carefully chosen to offer high quality and value for money.

The seasons together with market availability dictate changes to our food and drink offerings.

During the year Noel arranges for certain up market entertainment which forms part of a special evening which ranges from music to presentations accompanied by a set menu.
